LiveBytes Bilingual Word Alignment Assistant ("the extension") is a free Chrome extension that translates English news headlines on investinglive.com word by word. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
What we process. The extension reads only the text of the news headlines shown in the LiveBytes panel on investinglive.com. To translate them, it sends that headline text and your chosen target language to one of:
Google processes these requests under its own terms and privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Our gateway sees your IP address only as part of the network request, uses it for short-term rate limiting in memory, and does not store it. Translated headlines may be cached in memory for up to 24 hours to avoid repeated requests. This cache contains only public headline text.
What we do not collect. We do not collect your name, e-mail, account details, browsing history, cookies, location, or any content from other websites. There is no analytics, tracking, or advertising. We do not sell or share data with anyone.
Stored on your device. Your settings (language, display options and, if you provide one, your personal Gemini API key) are stored locally in your browser with Chrome storage. Recent translations are cached in session storage. These are never sent to us. Your API key is sent only to Google to authenticate your own requests. Uninstalling the extension deletes this data.
Feedback. The "Request site" form opens your own e-mail program with a pre-filled message to sd3179438@gmail.com. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send that e-mail. Any e-mail you send is used only to reply to you and improve the extension.
Donations. The "Buy Me a Coffee" button opens Ko-fi (ko-fi.com) in a new tab. Any donation is handled by Ko-fi under its own privacy policy.
Children. The extension is not directed to children under 13.
Changes. We may update this policy. The date above will change accordingly.
